The first thing we need to do is to consult about your objective. Then we should establish a goal for the purpose of your Web Site. This will help us to compile appropriate content and present that content in a structured manner which will communicate your intent for the Site. Once this is determined, you can collect and organize any other necessary information that will be used in your Site. This will help us to accomplish a visualization of how the data will be structured and interlinked in a manner to ashore that your information is communicated comfortably and thoroughly to the viewer.

When your information and content is gathered together we can plan a story board and outline the structure of the site. At this time we will begin to figure out a cost for your site. Because no two Web Sites are alike, pricing is determined on an individual basis after reviewing several factors, including: content, size, structure and general complexity. The more thought into these inital details, the better. If at this time we are exceeding your expected budget we can make the necessary revisions to fit that budget. Then, you can be quoted a price for the Site and construction will begin on the first couple pages.

For most large sites, a story board layout is a necessity. Without a story board, you might expect to get twice the possible cost as a quote from a web site developer because of all the unknowns. A story board is the blueprints of the project. They are very easy to construct, but do consider some thought and take some time. Without a story board, it's like giving a contractor all the material to build your custom home and then making him guess what's in your mind without providing any blueprints or pictures. The result will be many extra hours of work to find your mind and to make changes along the way because of all the guess work.

A story board can be as simple as taking eight and half by eleven pieces of paper and roughly sketching what you have in mind. A picture here and some text there. If I click this link it goes to this page. On the directory I want this button to say this and that button to say that. This simple blueprint can greatly cut the cost of constructing a web site. Many designers will not, or cannot, quote a projected cost without knowing what to expect from the client. If you take the time to put together this story board, you are going to get a more accurate quote and you are more apt to make things go easier for your planned outcome during construction. If you prefer, we can create your story board with you.

Some projects require a small deposit prior to starting any work. We then complete a section of the site, or the story board, and you will review it and if you are satisfied, we will begin to work on the next section of the Site, and continue constructing your Site a section at a time until completion. With this type of progression, the client is comfortable along the process of fulfilling their expectations and the author is comfortable being reimbursed for the work a section at a time.

At no cost, you will be provided a private address on the Internet at a host computer to view your Web Site and observe how it functions on line as it is being constructed. This is the only reliable process for Web design and production capable of demonstrating whether or not the design translates well on the Web. This way, instead of only seeing story boards or print layouts you'll see a true working prototype of your site in its real medium. In this manner, your Web Site can be constructed by PageDesigning no matter where you are located.

Revisions and corrections can be easily and quickly displayed via the Web for you to review at your convenience. This makes quick and easy access for clients to approve their corrections and for the author to receive feedback.

When your Web Site is completed we will up-load it to your host computer. You then decide how you want to market it. (see Marketing for details) We should also register your Site with the appropriate search engines and directories.

If your Site is the type of Site that needs ongoing changes made, that service is available. Or, you can be shown how to make changes to your Web Site yourself.
